R.I.P. Solar Cycle Book Club

This was a fun book club...now that it's gone I am searching for another Gene Wolfe discussion group.

I can't stand Urth.net navigation. Hopefully something else will pop up.

We had discussed reading the "Soldier" series. Could the people who set up this site add a section for the three soldier books?

We certainly could. Let me know the interest and I'll get them set up.

Why R.I.P.? Has the board been abandoned? I know it was inaccessible (at least for me) for a long time, but I checked yesterday and voila! it was back. I am ready to discuss some Wolfe--I have read his stuff extensively for over five years now, and the Urth list is kinda chaotic and unfocused. Anyway, if there are other members around who feel the same as I do, there is no reason for this place to die. So someone bring the Claw here and resurrect this board.

And to the admins:  just a suggestion, and I am in no way telling you how to run things here, but is there any way you could email the members here and let them know that things are up and running again? I'm sure at least some of them would come back. As I said, only a suggestion.

I'm glad to see the Book Club back on the net. I hope it stays up for a while as there are a lot of useful insights here.

If anyone is interested since it doesn't look like this place is active anymore, you're all welcome over at my new Wolfe forum. The address is http://usefulphrases.yuku.com

I am in no way trying to steal members from here, but if it is no longer being used, I see no reason not to carry on at another place. Thanks.

My apologies on the lack of communication here. I'll look into contacting members. I don't know if there's a way for me to contact everyone en masse or not. I'll go ahead and set up boards for other books.

I also apologize for the board being down. Somewhere a password got changed and it wasn't propagated all the way back to me until I tried to get to earlier this month and couldn't. I had to reset things and then it all worked. I've also upgraded the software to the most recent release and hopefully that helps. (and I'm turning on notifications again so that things don't stagnate)
